Hybrid Limos

Hybrid limos are now available for rent in some large metropolitan areas such as New York, Los Angeles, and San Francisco. Now you can enjoy the comfort and class of a limousine without feeling like you are damaging the environment. Hybrid limousine can achieve fuel economy of more than twenty five percent better than conventional gas powered limousines.

Hybrid limos include models from Lincoln and Cadillac. There may even be a stretch Toyota Prius limo available for rent. Some limousine rental companies may also offer large hybrid SUV limos such as the Cadillac Escalade or Chevrolet Tahoe for rent. As hybrid limos come down in price, they may offer savings for customers, as gas costs can be very expensive for typical limousines.

Some limousine rental companies may also offer diesel–powered limos for rent. Diesel engines are more fuel–efficient than gas powered engines. Hybrid and diesel engine limos allow customers to be Earth-friendly but still have the elegance and style of a conventional limousine.

Even President Barack Obama wanted a hybrid limousine. After President Obama was elected President in 2008, he inquired with the Secret Service about getting a hybrid limo. Unfortunately, the Secret Service denied the President's inquiry for a hybrid limo citing concerns over the power and acceleration needed for a presidential limo. However, it is likely there will be a hybrid Presidential limo this decade as hybrid engines are tested and become more powerful. For example, the 2011 Porsche Cayenne Hybrid SUV has a gas–electric engine that produces a combined 380 horsepower while still obtaining estimated EPA fuel economy of 21–mpg city and 25–mpg highway.

There are a variety of hybrid limos to choose from. Click on the links from our sponsors for more information.
